DescriptionVignetted image of men similarly dressed in long-sleeved shirts (rolled up to their elbows and colored red or blue), pants, and wide brimmed hats. They are standing, mostly in profile, on either side of a long wooden trough while holding various hand tools. The man in the center holds a pan filled with gold. This half plate cased daguerreotype is housed inside of a brass matt with a burgundy velvet liner, embossed with the maker's name, inside of a brown case with good tooling and an embossed image of a columned structure with a tall obelisk in the center.ProvenanceThe Hall Family Foundation, Kansas City, MO, 2019;
