DescriptionImage of a painted sign for "LA-Z-BOY" featuring a woman with long wavy hair wearing a sleeveless dress and seated in a recliner with her feet up. A bouquet of roses is on the round table beside her.Gallery Label

This image, a cropped portion of a billboard, features a woman dressed in the fashions of the early 1970s. She reclines in a new LA-Z-BOY chair, set against an elegant, draped backdrop. The woman’s position and her sideways “come hither” smile typify the clichéd, seductive pose advertisers have long used when portraying sexually alluring women to sell products.
