This image pictures a roadside ice cream stand. Dow photographed a similar subject in the image above, showing a building that had been closed due to recent flood damage. Here, however, Dow focuses on the cone, set atop a short pole apart from its architectural context and placed in the middle of a field. The framing emphasizes the strangeness of this homemade structure amid natural surroundings.
