Since 2005, Markus Brunetti has travelled around Europe photographing medieval religious architecture, such as this cathedral in Somerset, England, built between 1176–1450. The photographs are far from straightforward documentations. Brunetti makes between 1,000 and 2,000 digital captures of each façade, one square meter at a time. He then digitally stiches the images together to create the final piece. The work renders the architecture with a degree of detail that would be impossible to discern with the naked eye.
