DescriptionSaunter is a vertically oriented abstract composition consisting of areas of light gray, salmon pink, and two varieties of cerulean, one lighter than the other, interspersed over the white background of the paper support. Broad strokes and larger areas of gray are concentrated on the left half of the paper. Blocks of the darker cerulean occupy most of the remainder of the left side, and the salmon color fills much of the remaining space. Streaks of blue and gray bleed into the pink in areas at the lower left. A long, thick stroke of the dark cerulean extending almost the length of the composition divides it into two sides. A large area of the lighter cerulean with two extensions reminiscent of legs dominates the right side. An area of gray mixed over the dark cerulean and partially blended with pink is positioned above the light cerulean shape. The rest of the right side includes one dark cerulean block and several gray areas with most of the remaining space between the shapes filled with pink, streaked with gray.Exhibition HistoryNone
