DescriptionIn this view from above, Bourguignon depicts a street in Nice flanked by apartment buildings. Three figures, quickly captured in dabs of black paint, traverse the sidewalk at left. A blue mountain peak rises against the looming gray sky. Soft tones of pink, gray, and taupe dominate in this vertically oriented painting. Windows and shutters on the apartment buildings are loosely outlined in black. More vibrant colors (a cluster of green vines or heavily-leafed tree, a red-orange roof, and a blue rounded peak) mark the top center of the painting.
