DescriptionLimestone head of a Bodhisattva finely carved with arched brows, elongated eyes, broad nose and full lips. The back part of the head is partly missing. The hair is arranged in regular curls, coiling to each side from the center, in a line along the forehead and in front of the ears. It wears the remains of an elaborate diadem of three parts, the central section carved with a large jewel in front - held in place by a strap or ribbon, a fragment of which remains behind the head.Exhibition History
