DescriptionPale greenish white marble; compact, monumental remains of an image of the Buddha from the diaphragm up; proper right shoulder damaged and partially missing; proper left shoulder and chest draped with a thin monk's robe indicated with broadly spaced wide grooves; full, round head and chin imbue the figure with massiveness; facial features clearly but simply rendered, with small up-turned mouth, borad nose, and large expressionless eyes; large peppercorn curls in moderate relief cover the head.Exhibition History
