Formerly an engineer for NASA’s Apollo missions, Fred Eversley became the first artist-in-residence at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in 1977. He draws from parabolic shapes, which capture energy for satellite stations and also support massive bridges. Eversley recreates these shapes in cast polyester and acrylic forms. They embody both formal purity and kinetic principles.
