DescriptionThe panel has a field of deep purple silk, decorated with silk embroidery in mustard yellow, lilac, pink, orange, blue, white, and three colors of green. The decoration consists of a central floral design with radiating blossoms and flowers forming the corners of the center field. This field is framed by two wide borders that formed of repeating flowers set inside a grid. A thin floral border circumscribes the entire composition. This is mounted with a border of green iridescent silk on the recto, and mounted on heavy blue cotton on the verso. This embroiderer uses chain stitches to form her designs. This is an example of Aari embroidery in Kutch.
