DescriptionAbstract drawing of black undulating lines; space between lines is filled with colored crayon, while a black, jagged border frames the composition. At right, a vertical column of words is the result of a watermarkGallery Label
This dynamic abstraction is an invitation to a purely visual experience—the expressive power of line and color unburdened by recognizable content or references to the observable world, history, literature or myth. Ault offers us the opportunity to take pleasure in the rhythm of colorful, undulating forms playing off flame-like shapes, much as he must have enjoyed creating them.
