DescriptionImage of a bearded man in uniform. He is wearing a numbered hat, jacket with shiny buttons, and a badge with a chain. He is seated and his hands are clasped. This sixth plate daguerreotype is housed in a decorative brass mat inside of a leathered covered case embossed with a garland and scroll motif. There is applied gold pigment to the buttons on the uniform and the hat band. The maker has also scribed lines on the whistle chain, badge, and hat insignia to accentuate their appearance on the plate.
