DescriptionImage of a woman seated with a book in her lap. She wears a patterned dress with a broach and earrings that dangle. This quarter-plate daguerreotype is housed in an oval brass mat inside of a traditional wooden frame miniature case with a black leather covering that has blind tooling on the back of the tray, and a maroon leather covering wrapped on the rails. There are dark red velvet covered retainers in the tray, and there is a faux marbled paper lining. The lid has a dark red velvet covered cushion.Published References
