Hiroshi Sugimoto's photographs of Art Deco movie theaters represent metaphors for the film experience itself. His exposure times match the duration of the film being projected on the screen: about 90 minutes. Simultaneously empty and full, the glowing screen suggests the magic of light and the infinite possibilities of vision.
