Reflecting the unpredictable nature of weather and sky, Shoei Tamura’s photographs deftly illustrate the power of primal forces and the interplay between nature and culture. Using a long exposure to capture multiple bolts of lightning in a single image, Tamura depicts the ragged energy of atmospheric electricity striking in eerily close proximity to a silent row of houses.
