DescriptionGrid composed of 10 rows of 10 photographs. The two left columns depict a beach while the other frames are of residential buildings, parked cars, and intersections.Gallery LabelIn the 1960s, Robbert Flick became frustrated with making static, single-viewpoint photographs of the American landscape. Instead, he began using multiple images in a single work to convey the experience of moving through space.
“I was interested in rendering my photographic experience of Los Angeles and wanted to emphasize the process of that experience. Rather than framing a moment, it became important to acknowledge it.”
