DescriptionLidded container with wooden bottom and top (to lid). top are woven basketry with finer woven decorative twill plaiting covering sides of basket and sides and top of lid. Color change in design centered on top of lid and on sides of container. Single overall design on sides of container and on top of lid.Provenance

NOTES:

[1] This basket is one in a group of five with the same provenance. On the base of one of the other baskets in the group (Nelson-Atkins no. F84-85/3 B), two inscriptions read: “Chloe M. Coffin from Aunt Chloe M. Pierce” and “To Helen Coffin from Aunt Chloe For Green Hollow 1933.”
