Pollution is clearly not considered an issue in this view of the train station at Broad Street, Philadelphia. The bustle of modern American life is vividly evoked. By this date the etching revival has become impressionistic, and the sketchily defined figures are like those in Claude Monet’s Boulevard des Capucines in the Nelson-Atkins' collection.
