DescriptionThis small, horizontally oriented watercolor depicts a brown horse eating from a trough. Its body runs nearly parallel to the picture plane with its head at the left side of the composition and its tail at the right.Provenance

[1] Edwin Hough lent the painting to The Nelson-Atkins Museum in 1935, where it remained a loan through the Hough Trust after his death.
