[1] Herbert Baker began collecting African art in 1950. A label with the Baker inventory number ‘A1533’ is on the back of the object, although the number ‘A-153’ is used by Baker in a letter to Ralph T. Coe, Assistant Director, July 8, 1966, NAMA registration files.
