Gallery LabelJaune Quick-to-See Smith’s distinctive collage-based style merges found and drawn images. In these works, she details values she believes have imbued Native American people with resilience: nature/medicine, tribe/community, wisdom/knowledge, and humor. With lithographs like Survival Suite, Smith shared that she is “telling stories about hope with humor. We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t have hope.”
Smith is among the many artists who repeatedly collaborated with Michael Sims at The Lawrence Lithography Workshop and trusted him to bring their vision to life as prints.
