Triangular stem blue with orange edges. Transparent white accents overall in short, square strokes.Gallery LabelIntrigued by the vistas of overlapping rooflines in New York, Lidya Buzio applies images of buildings and towers onto her works in subtle tonalities inspired by Roman frescoes. Here, earth-toned structures rest on a green ground beneath blue skies, which rise to form the angularly notched neck. The two-dimensional scene is rendered in perspective, creating an illusion of spatial recession. The curves and swells of the piece's form provide a third dimension to the cityscape. The polished surface and consistent feathered brushwork further animate the vessel.
