DescriptionLong diagonal sweep of 6 green strips separated by unlinked white lines enclosed, top and bottom, by dark blue railings, bends downward and left, and, in short segment, upward and right. Strip of yellow across top green stripe. Half-lunar linear yellow ellipse with triangular supports at bottom of long span.Gallery LabelThe function of a bridge is to connect. But a bridge is also an aesthetic form. Crossing a bridge can be an aesthetic event as one experiences movement through its repetitive structural forms. In Bridge with Its Own Shadows, Siah Armajani reminds us of this by capturing the play of light and color across the trusses and trestles of a bridge.
