[1] Müller arranged a deal with Edmond Sagot (1857–1917) to sell him 500 editions of The Swans and its companion The Peacocks“Vendu à Mr Sagot 500 frises Les Paons, 500 frises Les Cygnes : 750F. Reçu à valoir 375F. Le reste payable le 14 octobre 1904. Je m'engage à ne pas vendre le résidu me restant des Cygnes et des Paons. Müller 10 Septembre 1904. Aujourd'hui 15 Octobre reçu 375 [trois cent soixante-quinze francs] pour solde sur cette affaire. Müller” (Sold to Mr. Sagot: 500 friezes of Peacocks, 500 friezes of Swans: 750F. Receipt for 375F. The balance payable on October 14, 1904. I undertake not to sell the remaining stock of Swans and Peacocks. Müller, September 10, 1904. In Le Courrier Français during the summer of 1905, The Swans was advertised as for sale at chez Pierrefort. See Le Courrier Français 22, no. 35 (August 31, 1905): 12. Pierrefort’s address was 12, Rue Bonaparte, where he sold prints and posters.
