With the China Art Trading Company, Peiping, by July 1933 [1];

Purchased from the China Art Trading Company, through Laurence Sickman, by The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, 1933.

NOTES:

[1] Documentation of this object's vendor is convoluted in purchase records. According to a purchase document in the Nelson-Atkins Registration file, the China Art Trading Company was located at Lo Ch'ien Chii, Peiping (modern-day Beijing). Sickman's financial statement for the purchase names Li Tsin Chiu, Hatamen Ta Chieh, Peiping, as the person from whom the object was purchased. This is the same name that Sickman associates elsewhere with the North China Trading Company; it is likely they are the same company and the inconsistent inclusion of 'North' in the name is a clerical omission. However, in a memorandum dated August 23, 1933, Sickman identifies this object as having been purchased in Ch'ien Men Wei, Peiping, and does not name the vendor.
