DescriptionTwo-wheeled wooden cart in the form of a gondola painted pale blue with nichel-plated tin mounts and fittings, surmounted by a canvas canopy supported by four twisted nichel-plated metal posts. The prow is painted with mermaids and waves and a metal mount in the form of a dolphin. there are two large metal central containers covered with embossed or pressed metal, with a smaller covered container in the front of the cart and a metal urn or vase at the rear. There is a mounted tazza on the right back. Four sections of twisted metal form a railing around the "deck," each mounted wtih a seahorse pulling a female hoppocamp. There appears to be a gas fitting in the central metal element which has two large acanthus leaf branches (probably where gas for lighting illuminated the cart). There are stampled metal mounts as wheel coverings for the wooden wheels and a cast bronze mount in the front of the cart at the base of a mermaid; another bronze mount of foliage serves as a balance for the whole cart to rest upon.
