DescriptionFlat bowl on column with spreading foot atop square tetrapod plinth with lion's paw feet emerging from acanthus flanked by scrolls and joined by gadroon about top edge. Spout, center, with shell handle, emerges from fluted patera. Two handles, acanthus-adorned. Cavetto above shoulder, gadroon around cornice, shell and acanthus at lateral centers. Domed lid with scroll and acanthus molding above edge, pineappel-knop handle. JMC (?) engraved in script on shoulder, front; MDS from EWS/1915 engraved on body, rear.ProvenanceMartha D.
