DescriptionThe painting is an oval portrait of a bearded man who is seated with his body turned toward the right. He wears a black waistcoat, a white shirt and a black cravat tied in a bow at the neck. Seated upon a red sofa, he is posed before a heavy, olive-colored drape which extends in a diagonal from the upper right. Beyond the sofa, on the right hand side of the painting, is a sunset-streaked sky.Published ReferencesNone.
