DescriptionImage of a bearded man standing in profile in front of a tent with a pan under his left arm and a shovel over his right shoulder. He wears a hat and boots. A sign over the doorway reads "Justice's Office". This sixth plate daguerreotype is housed in a brass mat with a burgundy velvet liner inside of a thermoplastic Union case. On the case is a medallion that holds a profile image of George Washington and is inscribed "First in war, first in peace, first in the hearts of his countrymen."
