DescriptionTwo boxers in the upper two-thirds of the image. They stand behind the rope of the ring. The one on the left is seen with body in three-quarter view and head in profile; he faces right. He steps forward with his proper left leg; his left fist connects with the other boxer’s fists; his proper right hand is drawn back, preparing to punch. Both boxers wears shorts, gloves, a boxing helmet, and boxing boots. The boxer on the right faces left, his head and body seen in profile. His body is bent forward and his proper left arm connects with the other boxer’s glove. His knees are bent and the right foot is lifted to step back. In the foreground, two heads; the one on the left turns to our right, facing away from the ring. The one on the right is seen from behind.Provenance
