DescriptionThree figures in black and grey. A White man seen in profile gives a stern look toward an Asian(?) woman on the right. The woman, seen in three-quarter view facing left, is dipping her fingers into an open purse or basket slung over the shoulder of a Black woman in the center. The Black woman wears a hat with a wide brim and is seen in profile. Her proper left arm is bent and her hand blends with the man’s sleeve.Provenance
