DescriptionThis is a polychrome ōban woodblock print. Its composition is divided vertically into two sections. The top introduces the lucky ages for the people of Doshō and Mizushō. Below the list of ages, a domestic scene with a tokonoma, or an alcove for decoration, is depicted. The tokonoma on the right displays a hanging scroll portraying Fukurokuju, who has a prominently elongated head, and a pair of dolls (Fukusuke and Fukuonna) on a sanpō(also known as sanbō) stand. A woven bamboo flower vase on the tokonoma pillar holds a wisteria branch. In front of the tokonoma spreads a handscroll with illegible writing, accompanied by a lacquered letter box closed with red cords. Placed on the shelf next to tokonoma are a bundle of paper and a set of brushes held in a brush holder. Under the shelf is sealed with sliding doors with an image of Mount Fuji.
