DescriptionPolychrome woodblock print of Yokohama-e (Yokohama pictures or Yokohama prints) type depicting American man and woman. The woman wears a light pinkish orange shirt and blue skirt, holding a parasol. The man wears a black jacket and white pants while holding a cigarette. The background color transitions from light blue to white to slightly deeper blue, divided softly by the bokashi technique. The inscription in the cartouche is the title: Seisha Amerika jin 正写亜墨利加人[True Picture of Americans]. The publisher's seal reads Sanoki 佐野喜.Provenance
