DescriptionThis is a horizontally oriented print in black ink that depicts a small road with a few buildings on either side. At the left side of the road, in the middle ground, there sits a broad tower with three faces. The darkest face is angled toward the road; a partially shaded face is parallel with the picture plane, and a white face (barely visible behind dark tree branches along the left edge of the picture) is oriented away from the road. The tower casts a dark shadow across the road, and between its shadow and the bottom of the picture, the left half to two-thirds of the road is covered in a cone-shaped shadow. Two or three one-story buildings stand along the right side of the road. The central building appears to be stucco or adobe construction with exposed beam ends in a row at the top of the front elevation. Two black trees extend up behind that building.Exhibition History
