DescriptionDouble exposure image of young child with curly hair and a checkered shirt lying on pillow. On the left, the child's eyes are closed and her head faces towards the top of the plate while on the right, the same child lays with her eyes open and faces the bottom of the plate; an adult hand along the right edge appears to hold the child in place. Sixth plate cased daguerreotype housed in brass mat with dark red velvet liner inside plain leather covered case.Provenance
