InscribedPrinted captions on paper, attached to mount verso, in black type: "Group in a Passenger / Boat. / Not a bad selection of the motley as- / semblage, which may at any time be seen / being ferried across the river in Shang- / hai for a few Cash (about a thousandth / part of a Dollar.) The keen looking / Compradore, well conditioned "boy" --- / the devil may care coolie, with his tail / twisted round his hat to keep it on his / head, the old man and small boy, &c. -- / all however with looks of decided intelli- / gence, which recommend them to notice / and which give a good idea of the class / of passengers constantly moving in these / boats.--"
