DescriptionA rectangular hand-sewn flag with appliquéd symbols. In the top left section is an insert of the British Union Jack. The remaining field of black velvet has three appliquéd images of men. The left figure is shown carrying in one hand a whip; the central figure holds in one hand an egg and the other a sword, while the right figure has his right hand to the mouth. The composition is framed by a border decorated with red, yellow and white handsewn rectangles.ProvenanceAcquired in Cape Coast, Ghana, by Nii Quarcoopome, Farmington Hills, MI, by 1999-2013 [1];
