DescriptionImage of a man wearing a suit with vest and tie standing at a lectern with an open book; his text is illuminated by a pair of glass shaded lamps. There is a painted backdrop and the lower portion of a large column appears on the left. The details of his clothes and the tasseled cover of the lectern are sharp and well contrasted. This sixth plate daguerreotype is housed in a brass mat inside of a case an embossed blue velvet liner. The case cover depicts a mixed flower variant motif.
