Baccio Bandinelli was a sculptor and engraver working in Florence in the mid-16th century. This rather complicated print is somewhat austere in the severe and rigid way the figures are grouped and arranged. In the center a cupid plays dice with the female figure of fortune, indicating how fickle love is, while a bound youth to the right seems a prisoner of desire.
