DescriptionA wheel-thrown stoneware storage jar with two small handles on the shoulder surmounted by a circular slab lid with attached handle. Although the majority of the body is unglazed, there is a splash of gray-greenish glaze on the upper body; this extends onto the lid. The clay body is coarse and filled with frit, and the wheel-turned marks clearly delineated. The two pieces have been fired in a salt kiln. The rotund body is stamped with an "F" near the base.Copyright© Estate of Kenneth Ferguson
