DescriptionSalt-glazed stoneware globular jar with lid with two handles attached from the neck to the upper body. The deocration includes an incised wavy line around the neck of the vessel and three applied hemispheres of clay on each "side." Beneath the raised dots of clay on one side are two parallel lines of 6 tiny incised dots and on the other small circles of incised dots. This area is then covered with splashes of blue glaze. On one side of the vessel is a large burn mark from the wood-fired kiln. There are splashes of iron reddish brown around the neck and tops of the handles. The lid of the pot is domed with a large overhanging lip, emphasized by an incised line, with the entire top covered with a salt glaze. The underside of the lid is glazed only on the lip.
