DescriptionChinese export porcelain plate with grisaille decoration highlighted with gold of European lovers reclining in a landscape with two dogs at their feet. A castle is in the background. The border of the plate is painted with eight cartouches highlighted with gilding: four of which are foliage C-scrolls; the other cartouches, also C-scrolls, are filled with cupids shooting arrows at the lovers and quivers of arrows. A border of gilded foliage and scrolls decorate the inner border.
