DescriptionStanding figure, both arms outstretched, r. foot forward, head turned to proper l., wearing jacket with yellow border, floral sprigs in black, three blue ties; long sleeves, lace cuffs with blue borders, blue-edged underskirt, puce pantaloons with purple garters, yellow shoes; has brownish wig, rouged cheeks; stands on scrolled base trimmed in puce, gold and green; crown/CT/B marks on base.Provenance

[1] According to Rosenberg and Stiebel’s invoice, Nelson-Atkins curatorial files, the figure was once in the collection of “Consul General Baer, Frankfurt a/Main.” This is most likely Dr. Emil L. Baer, German Consul General to the United States in the 1930s.
