DescriptionEight-sided bollow block form. perforation along upper right edge. Polyhedron attached at bottom of right side. side, onto which is attached a green square. plane a solid color--usually purple or blue but also some red and green. between planes are thin white lines.Gallery LabelKen Price urges, "Don't just look at these things, get in close…explore intimately…." The reward for giving this ceramic work a closer look is a multi-faceted exploration of brilliantly glazed planes that vibrate in harmony and contrast. Price's works are often described as three-dimensional drawings of color, and he is credited with being at the center of the American Abstract Expressionist ceramics movement. Here, strong geometric form and volume are achieved as much by the bold juxtaposition of colors as they are by the crisply delineated surfaces composing the structure.
