DescriptionThis is a vertically oriented, primarily greyscale painting of four soldiers with bayonets resting against the side of a steep rocky cliff on the proper left of the painting. There are dark hills in the distance and grassy landscape and large rocks in the foreground. It is evening and there are stars and a crescent moon in the dark sky. There is a signature near the middle, and lower part of the painting.
