DescriptionThis is a vertically oriented portrait of a young woman wearing a blue and white checked bonnet which has large ruffles and a large bow tied under her chin. The woman has dark eyebrows and dark wavy hair which is mostly covered by the bonnet. She is slightly turned so the viewer sees mostly the right side of her face. Her facial expression is relaxed, and she appears to be smiling with her mouth partially open. Her eyes are open and cast downward slightly. She is wearing a light blue top, but only part is visible as it blurs into the white background of the painting. There is a signature, title, and date of the work on the lower proper left side.
