DescriptionThis is a polychrome surimono woodblock print printed on squarish paper. The cartouche on the top left contains a poem by Hōnen’an Yasutoshi. Two figures appear on a cliff by the waterfalls. An aristocratic man wearing a beige hō stands by the waterfalls. His hō is decorated with eight-petaled, dark-colored floral and silverly round patterns. His attendant, wearing orange kariginu (hunting robe) and blue pants, sits by him. On the aristocratic man’s back grows a pine tree. The waterfalls and the motifs on the clothes are partially printed with silverly metallic colorant.
