DescriptionThe Print Society's commissioned print by Norman Akers. This work is a continutation of his four-part "Uncontested Territories" print series created in 2014. Elements of landscape, a distorted map, iconic presidents in flying saucers, a stereotypical Indian in a Plains headdress, two human hands (forming a "cat's cradle" - a game played with string), and two buildings are used to evoke concepts of "the other," "the alien," and artificial borders.Provenance

Commissioned purchase from the artist, Norman Akers by The Print Society, 2019.

Their gift to The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, 2019.
