DescriptionThis is a horizontally oriented (though almost square) black and white print depicting a small town in a valley, centered on street lined with small buildings. The white street is widest at the center of the lower edge of the image, narrowing as it recedes and curves to the left, turning out of sight near the center of the image. There are at least three power line poles along the left side of the street and two cars, one parked on each side of the street. Most of the foreground buildings have slanted roofs. A steep hill rises up to the left of the buildings on that side of the street. A few buildings on the right side of the street in the middle ground have flat roofs, facades in an even row, and white awnings over the street level in the style of an American "main street." There is a water tower rising up just behind that row of buildings, then a few more buildings behind and to the left of the tower are built on a rising hill, continuing along the curve of the street. Almost all of the buildings are mostly black with lighter roofs. There is another group of buildings built on a higher hill further back in the picture and to the right of the street. Mountain foothills rise behind this hill and into the background. A bridge on the left side of the background is the other visible feature of the town.
