DescriptionAn oversized brooch made of dowel rods and black thread. The dowel rods are bent into a three horizontal bow shapes, with radiating rays extending out in various sizes. The rods are painted, a few are completely black with most having black and red stripes and areas of the natural wood color. Black thread is wrapped at all of connecting points of the radiation dowels on the outermost bow shape. A gathering of threads connects from one side of the broch to another and has a large knot with many dangling pieces.ProvenanceMarjorie Schick (1941‑2017), Pittsburg, KS;
